Who we are in Christ Jesus

Who we are in Christ Jesus

In Christ Jesus we are complete and perfect before our Heavenly Father. We are able to walk into that beautiful, incredibly intimidating throne room, right up to the great chair, where sits a pulsating Holy Light that is so powerful that no human can look upon it and live, and say, “Dad, I have a problem, can you help me?” He bends down and says, “Tell me child, I am listening”. What more can He give us than His ear, His love, His time? What else do we need?

“4 For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight…” Ephesians 1:4a

The profound gift and power of the cross is not merely salvation and the forgiveness of sins, but the perfection of Christ in us, on us, so that we are complete in Him for the very foundations of the world. God saw me and He saw you, perfected in Christ Jesus, when Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden. He knew every single thing you would do, every mistake, every doubt, every thought, yet He sees you as perfect in Christ Jesus, washed clean in His blood, and standing there before Him, in cloths made for you from the righteousness of Christ. The righteousness of Jesus Christ is the only way.

Jesus Christ says in John 14:6 “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”

It is only in Christ, by Christ, and through Christ that we can stand before the Holy One, the Creator of Heaven and earth and say, “Dad”!

“In love he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ…” Ephesians 1:5a Here the Bible is saying we are sons. This gives us the authority and the lineage of the Father. Remember women were of very little value because a daughter would not hold the same position as a son. The son would carry the father’s name and property and power but a daughter would not. So when the Bible says we are sons, it is not saying daughters are worthless, but giving us the status and position and title of a son. Don’t think of this sonship as male or female but as a title of status. It is a really, really beautiful gift!
