Society says woman are down trodden, powerless, insignificant, sex objects, fat, stupid, insignificant, and the list goes on and on and on! God says women are equal, strong, beautiful, pure, clothed in beautiful clothes, spotless, strong, His! See the difference?
You are special to God. He made you uniquely you. Your weaknesses are God’s masterpiece. Don’t believe the lie that you are not good enough, in the wrong place at the wrong time, or failing.
Can you imagine telling someone to just give up and die? This is a very shocking statement from Job’s wife. Remember, she has lost all her wealth as well and all her children! She is in devastating sorrow. But the huge difference here is that instead of clinging to her husband and gaining strength in his patience during his mourning, she begins to attack him where it really hurts. Isn’t that a classic human move?
Right now our struggle is against a tiny microorganism called a virus. That is our physical struggle. But the real battle is spiritual. It is the battle of fear, dread, worry, anger, selfishness, and the list goes on and on.
Don’t let yourself be driven by sin. Fight against it. Work at breaking bad habits. Pray always and then again I say, pray.
Those of us who were blessed to grow up in a Christian home hearing the Word of God regularly, will remember memorizing and hearing the first part of this Scripture regularly.
This book opens with a fairy-tale type description of a beautiful life and loving family. Job is very
wealthy as the Lord had blessed him richly with sheep, camels, oxen, and donkeys. Job would sacrifice
for his children in case they had sinned. So Job actively interceded to God for his children regardless of
their ages. It shows the deep desire of Job’s heart to not recklessly or purposefully disregard God or
deny God in any way by his thoughts, actions, or those of his children’s.
God gave up His Son for us, so how can we give up on God?
When we are beaten down by temptations, tossed about by storms of life, hurting so much we feel like giving up, we need to be reminded that our God is victorious over all. That He loves us and that He cares for us and that He will see us through.
I went through a time where I did not feel that nursing was serving the Lord. I prayed and asked Him and He answered me with a yes, nursing was what I was to be doing and I was to do it to Him no matter how I felt about it. I was doing what the Lord wanted me to do but without a good attitude. I changed my attitude by seeking Him and that totally changed my perspective on my work.
