Encouragement to get in God’s Word
God created the world, man, woman and animals perfectly and Satan tempted Eve in the garden and she and Adam sinned and became imperfect. They disobeyed God. God cannot tolerate disobedience. So, every man, woman, and child on this planet is in desperate need of a Saviour, a perfect mediator between them and a Holy, perfect, beautiful, loving God.And that is where Jesus Christ comes in.My hope, prayer and purpose for writing all this down is so together, we can begin to hunger and thirst after God’s Word.
The Holy Spirit longs to be your Teacher and Instructor as you read through the Bible.Through writing this blog He is teaching me and showing me deep and meaningful and beautiful things. And I want to share them with you because I know it is so hard to open up the Bible and see things right away.It takes time and it takes a relationship with Him.So, get in the Word and begin to build that relationship.
I have read through the entire Bible in one year but the Bible is not a book to be just read.It is to be studied, understood, researched, thought-over, and reread. One book or even one chapter and, at times, one verse can keep you thinking and chewing for days. It is God’s love letter about His Son. The Bible was not written for us but for Jesus Christ, to reveal and glorify Him and His beautiful act of sacrificing Himself for us humans. It is God’s love letter about His Glorious Son and we get to learn, grow, and become more like Jesus by reading this letter.
The Bible states God is love. This is the ultimate truth! Never ever forget this simple truth. It is so, so, so important for us to know that, discover it, and cling to it. It will save us from being swept away in the waves of deception, lies, and sorrows of this fallen world. It is the lens that we must read the Bible through and from. “11 I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.12 Praise be to you, Lord; teach me your decrees.” Psalm 119: 11-12 “The earth is filled with your love, Lord; teach me your decrees.” Psalm 119:64 NIV
